Istria I takes you along the south and west of the Istrian peninsula, where Roman history meets the Adriatic coast. Start in Pula, the largest city in Istria, whose story reaches back to the legend of Jason and the golden fleece, and ride south to the Kamenjak Peninsula with its bays, beaches and fossilised dinosaur footprints.
Continue to Rovinj and its old town below St Euphemia’s Church, to Poreč and the Euphrasian Basilica, and inland to Svetvinčenat and its Grimani Castle. On the east coast, the hilltop towns of Plomin and Labin overlook the Kvarner Gulf.
